Bio

In 2015 I came across a Microsoft paper on machine learning and realized this was big -> I left for Cambridge to study applied AI -> I've been building ever since.

Background

Steve is the founder of Co-Intelligence Labs, an AI consulting firm specializing in personalized systems and collaborative AI. He believes AI can solve humanity’s biggest challenges but must be approached responsibly. Early in his career, he helped build one of Microsoft’s first machine learning products before pursuing a PhD at the University of Cambridge, where he used advanced combinatorial methods to develop personalized behavioral chatbots that improve health adherence.

Over the years, he has spearheaded product strategy, go-to-market, and AI initiatives at Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture, and multiple startups—driving nine-figure revenues and launching ventures like Amazon Pharmacy. A visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge and a reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst, he has advised the Obama Administration and the Government of Tanzania. Drawing on his background in applied AI, Steve frequently speaks on AI and healthcare. Having lived on five continents, he loves to travel and regularly hosts discussions on AI, art, and identity.
